Community Initiatives

Our economy is in crisis. Few communities are immune to its effects. A sustainable recovery will require a mix of new enterprise, training, and reemployment strategies that help firms and communities grow and connect people to rewarding work – in ways that both green the economy and increase the nation’s competitiveness.

It’s a tall order, but one we help communities and regions embrace everyday - online and off.

CSW’s Community Initiatives Team is helping education, economic and workforce development, and private investors work together to meet their immediate needs, and build a foundation for long term success. Our Learn, Link, Launch© framework emphasizes:

  • Collecting and making meaning out of data
  • Building networks and engaging community leaders, citizens, and residents
  • Making strategic investments in both “the tried and true” and experimental innovations
  • Documenting activities and results.

We are working with partners in Mid and Southeast Michigan to better connect entrepreneurs to each other and to the resources that can help them grow through www.WeToo.org —CSW’s own “business support inventory meets Web2.0”

We are working with partners in Southern Arizona to raise wages and create opportunities in manufacturing, defense and security, and entrepreneurship.

We manage a variety of learning networks in which policy makers and practitioners network, share ideas, engage in collaborative projects, and advance their collective practice and professional fields.

And we engage with people like you.
