CSW Joins Workforce Alliance in Raising Awareness of Michigan Job Opportunities, Calling for Investments in Training

In a new report, "Michigan's Forgotten Middle Skill Jobs," The Workforce Alliance finds that nearly half (46%) of all job openings in through 2016 will require more than a high school diploma, but less than a four-year degree. These jobs are already comprise 51% of the labor market, but only 46% of Michigan workers are qualified to take them. The Workforce Alliance, together with partners Corporation for a Skilled Workforce, the Michigan College Association, and the Michigan CSW and the Michigan League for Human Services, calls for investment in training initiatives that help all Michigan workers achieve complete at least two-years of post-secondary education.
