| Timeframe: |
January 2007 to January 2008 |
| Purpose: |

After managing the design process, convening four separate advisory boards and crafting a final report and demonstration to the governor, CSW continues to support the Department of Labor and Economic Growth on this program. Enrollment opens on August 1, 2007 and ends in August 2010. CSW is providing policy expertise and operational guidance as implementation gets underway. | Expected Outcome: |
This program is predicated on three major strategies: to develop career pathways and career exploration opportunities that all Oklahomans can access; to create a paradigm shift among Oklahomans and employers such that lifelong learning is valued; and to develop coordinated, responsive and proactive service delivery models and talent retention and recruitment to meet the needs of individuals and employers. |

The State of Oklahoma has convened three Grow Oklahoma work groups, each of which is grappling with one of the strategies (state under Expected Outcome) by considering policy changes and program innovations that can help the state meet its goals. The Governor's Council for Workforce and Economic Development is guiding the overall effort and will approve the final plan. Approval is expected in August 2007 with full implementation to follow shortly thereafter. This program will buildion many individual initiatives such as multiple agency support for a Career Readiness Certification program and creation of a Grow Oklahoma website.
