| Human Capital Initiatives
CSW's Human Capital Initiatives aim to change the dynamics of labor market mobility to improve the future for vulnerable U.S. workers and students. Our participation in the national 21st Century Model to Address Poverty contributed to a landmark demonstration of collaboration for reducing poverty. The model identifies Core Principles for Reimagining Human Services, and leverages public, private, not-for-profit, community- and faith-based organizations and resources. In Michigan, CSW is helping to develop a state-wide, low-wage worker advancement strategy, including helping to launch a new approach -- Jobs, Education, and Training (JET) -- that fundamentally changes the way families are moved off welfare and toward self-sufficiency. CSW is a founding partner of the Maturity Matters (www.maturitymatters.org) initiative which is repositioning the value of older workers as a core economic development asset in a six-county region in North Central Indiana.
